Hey, I’m Adelyn!
Originally from Adelaide, Australia, I moved to Rotterdam, Netherlands in 2023 to pursue my artistic ambitions and study illustration. Still currently studying, I now consider myself a multidisciplinary artist, working with ceramics, tattooing and illustration.
Working only in 2D, mostly on my ipad wasn’t interesting me as much as it used to and then thats when I decided to start exploring ceramics more. I found it incredibly fulfilling working with my hands rather than an iPad. I became very much obsessed with doing pottery and spent all my free time in the studio. And thats how Fragile Studios began!
I’ve fallen in love with the practice and and seeing how I can translate my illustrations both on ceramic vessels and bodies. It feels like I’m getting the best of both worlds :)
About my ceramics
All my ceramics are made with stoneware clay and carefully glazed with high quality and food safe glazes. Each piece is uniquely thrown on the wheel or handbuilt, and sometimes even both! They each take a few weeks to make, undergoing a long and thoughtful process which makes every piece very special to me. They are like my babies you are adopting!
I love to draw cute little whimsical characters, always looking a bit mischievous or tired (my 2 moods), something you would find in your garden, or anything with SPIRALs & SWIRLS. So thats what you will usually find on my mugs and other ceramic peices.
While I mostly make mugs at the moment, I am also exploring my interest in sculpting and hope to have other sculpted peices available soon too!
